Decent Work Country Programmes

Decent Work Country Programmes (DWCPs) serve as the ILO’s national programming instrument. They establish a framework that identifies the priorities of the ILO’s constituents within a country and outlines the Office’s anticipated support for achieving results aligned with these priorities. They are developed with the full involvement of national governments, as well as employers’ and workers’ organizations, and are implemented with their active participation. National ownership and a results-oriented approach are key aspects of DWCPs.

DWCPs are aligned with national development priorities and the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework. They represent the ILO’s contribution to the broader United Nations effort in a country to achieve the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals.

By supporting the country priorities identified in the DWCPs, ILO programs leverage the synergies and complementarity of operations, bringing together diverse funding sources to achieve common results, greater scale, and impact.
